Please pray for Leslie Reeves and her new born son today - as she buries her husband. Leslie gave birth to the couples only child the day before her husband - CPL Joshua Reeves was killed in Baghdad. Leslie is from Hendersonville, TN right down the road from us. Their story is below.

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. -- A soldier from Georgia was killed in Iraq a day after his wife gave birth to their son in her Tennessee hometown.

Army Spc. Joshua H. Reeves, 26, of Watkinsville, Ga., died Saturday after an explosive went off near his vehicle in Baghdad, the U.S. Department of Defense announced Tuesday.

He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kan.

His wife, Leslie Reeves, had returned to her native Hendersonville to be with her parents while she had the baby. She gave birth on Friday and named her son Joshua Jackson Reeves.

The soldier's parents also were told on Saturday of the death of the oldest of their five children. James and Jean Reeves live in Watkinsville, about 60 miles east of Atlanta.

"He wanted to fly helicopters, that was his dream," his father told The Tennessean. "He went to an aviation school after high school but he decided that joining the Army would get him to that point quicker."

Family members said the soldier was scheduled to come home on two weeks' leave in November.

Of course they are all in my thoughts and prayers. May God's Grace Shine down upon them all and strengthen them during this time of thier grief and sorrow.

Blessings & *hugs*
